I have always had a huge love for both reading and writing. Growing up, my notebooks were filled with (embarrassingly childish) stories, and I would spend hours editing and rewriting them until they were ‘perfect’. If I wasn’t writing, my nose was lodged firmly in a book. I must have read hundreds and hundreds of books, loving the way that you could completely lose yourself into another world.
Fast-forward to early 2020, and the world became a scary place. As COVID arrived in New Zealand, it seemed as though we would be going into and out of lockdowns for years to come. I knew that I needed a job that I could do remotely, and on my own time. With a lot of support from my family, I launched The Quickest Brown Fox in April of 2020. Originally, I was building websites and while it paid the bills, I did not enjoy it. I started writing blogs for my own website, and rediscovered my passion. After being contacted by someone who wanted me to write a blog for them, I realised that there was a way for me to combine my love for writing, and my job. I completed a course in Content Marketing from the University of California and pivoted to become a copywriter instead. I have been able to learn so much while writing about a huge range of topics. In ten years, I’m sure that I will be the world-champ at general knowledge. The last year has certainly been full of surprises, but I am so grateful to be able to get up every day and help other people tell their stories.
